Nov. 12, 6-9pm-- Ray Dorian: Linocut Workshop

Linocut is one of those art forms that feels both ancient and fresh. I love the tactile rhythm of carving, the quiet focus it brings, and the satisfying sound of ink rolling onto the block. It’s simple, meditative, and deeply rewarding — especially when you see your design mirrored back to you in bold black and white. What I enjoy most is showing people that you don’t need to be “an artist” to make something beautiful. All you need is curiosity and a willingness to experiment. Every print tells its own story, imperfections and all — that’s part of the charm. If you’ve ever been curious about printmaking, come join me for a class. You’ll learn the basics, make something by hand, and walk away with inky fingers and a big smile. Let’s carve, print, and create something uniquely yours — one image at a time.

Nov. 19, 6-9pm--Brigitte King: The Art of Painting on Pottery
There’s something quietly magical about painting on clay — a balance between touch, intention, and surprise. In this workshop, you’ll explore how surface and imagination meet through the delicate art of pottery painting.

Working with smooth porcelain, we’ll experiment with both planned designs and intuitive, flowing brushwork. You’ll learn how paint and glaze interact with the clay, how the kiln transforms your marks, and how each finished piece carries both your hand and a little mystery added by fire.

Brigitte adds, "If you have ever felt drawn to try it, start! Enjoy the feeling of the brush against the surface, the quiet focus it brings. Every painted piece, every imperfect line, tells a bit of your story — and that’s what makes it beautiful and you feel connected not only to the clay but also to centuries of artisans who have turned simple earth into art."

Dec. 3,  6-9pm-- Jacquie Engle

In this Wednesday workshop, Executive Director Jacquie Engel will guide you step-by-step as you create an adorable handmade gnome with tons of personality. You’ll choose your colors and embellishments, learn simple assembly techniques, and give your gnome its own quirky charm—perfect for perching on a shelf, tucking into a centerpiece, or gifting to someone who needs a smile.
