The Walk In Art Center began as an idea

The conception of the Walk In Art Center came out of a five part strategic plan from the Borough of Schuylkill Haven. The focus of the plan was to bring more visitors to Schuylkill Haven and revitalize the borough.
The plan includes:

• Penn State

• Developing the river area for recreation

• The Island Project, which includes sports fields, a pavilion and a future amphitheater.

• Downtown revitalization

• The Walk In Art Center
