Mission

​

As Walk In Art Center Juried Artists, our goal is to grow and develop our skills both individually and collectively. We will strive to achieve this shared commitment through the use of our creativity and imagination as artists to stimulate, educate, illuminate, thought-provoke, and entertain.

WIAC Artist Collective Meetings

​

Meetings are held every other month to discuss opportunities and generate ideas to help grow the Collective, the individual artists, and the Walk In Art Center as a whole.  While meetings are not mandatory, participation is strongly encouraged.

• Pathway towards a WIAC Studio Artists position

• Participation in WIAC Artists’ Exhibitions

• Participation in WIAC Artist of the Month exhibit during a scheduled First Friday Open House

• Artist only monthly events both at WIAC and other community locations

• Educational opportunities to Instruct or host a WIAC class or workshop (stipend offered)

• Invitation to select Artists-Only-After-Hours Events

• Mentoring by WIAC Studio and/or Alumni Artists

• Participation in our Art Market Sales Area throughout Studio Row

• Waved fees at WIAC vendor shows- Fees for other vendor shows covered

• Camaraderie with local artists

 

Requirements of a WIAC Artist

​

• Must be a creative individual seeking artistic growth in fine arts and fine crafts

  • Fine crafts include such work as ceramics, textiles, jewelry, all kinds of sculpture, glass, photography, video and more

• Fill out the online application and bring a portfolio (digital or physical) to jury committee for review – three (3) to five (5) pieces

• $30 membership fee per year or $15 per year with Student ID

  • Opportunities for needs-based sponsorships are available

• All WIAC Artists should participate in at least three (3) First Friday Open Houses

• All WIAC Artists must volunteer and contribute to the center on a monthly basis
