Donate to the WIAC

Since 2011, the Walk In Art Center has grown into the area's premiere place for all things art.  With exhibitions in its Main and Folk Art Galleries; year-round classes for kids and adults; public events like the annual SOUPer Bowl, Summer Concerts, and monthly Coffee House Cabarets; the WIAC brings the community together like nowhere else in the area.  Its mission is to inspire, equip, and celebrate the arts in Schuylkill County, but it does more than that.  It inspires and develops the creative minds that will propel us all into the future.  Please consider investing in that future with a donation to the Walk In Art Center.

The Walk In Art Center is Committed to Ethical Fundraising.

Donors can be assured that their donation will be used as they intend and that they are recognized (or not) as they wish.

The Donor Bill of Rights was established to promote ethical fundraising practices and to ensure that donors can have confidence in the organizations they support. It was created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits. Here are the key rights outlined in the bill:

  1. Right to be Informed: Donors have the right to be informed about the organization's mission, how their donations will be used, and the organization's capacity to use donations effectively.

  2. Right to Know Governance: Donors should know the identity of the organization's governing board members and expect prudent judgment in stewardship responsibilities.

  3. Right to Financial Transparency: Donors have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.

  4. Right to Purposeful Use of Gifts: Donors can be assured that their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.

  5. Right to Acknowledgment: Donors should receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition for their contributions.

  6. Right to Confidentiality: Donors can expect that their donation information will be handled with respect and confidentiality, as permitted by law.

  7. Right to Professional Relationships: Donors should expect professional relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest.

  8. Right to Know Solicitors: Donors have the right to know whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees, or hired solicitors.

  9. Right to Opt-Out: Donors can request that their names be removed from mailing lists that organizations may share.

  10. Right to Ask Questions: Donors should feel free to ask questions when making a donation and receive prompt, truthful answers.
These rights are designed to foster a culture of trust and respect between donors and nonprofit organizations, ensuring that philanthropy remains a voluntary and ethical practice.
