Wheel Throwing Camp

There’s nothing quite like the moment clay begins to move beneath your hands. In this youth wheel throwing class, students will learn the fundamentals of working on the pottery wheel, centering, opening, pulling walls, and shaping forms, while discovering the rhythm and focus that make wheel throwing so rewarding.

Designed for beginners and those with some experience, this class introduces essential techniques through guided projects like bowls, cups, and simple vessels. Students will also explore trimming and surface decoration, adding their own creative voice to each piece.

Working on the wheel builds patience, coordination, and confidence. It’s a process that requires focus, but also invites play, experimentation, and a willingness to try again. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, and that’s part of the magic.

All finished work will be glazed and kiln-fired, ready to use and take home.
