In this hands-on pottery camp, students will dive into the art of creating functional pottery on the wheel. They'll begin by learning essential safety practices and how to properly prepare clay for throwing. Through guided instruction, they’ll explore the process of centering, opening, and pulling walls to form their own vessels.

As they progress, students will gain experience in workspace organization, teamwork, and the importance of cleaning up after themselves. They'll also learn about the drying process and how to care for their pieces before they return to glaze them at a later date.

Each student will have the opportunity to keep two of their pieces, showcasing their creativity and newly acquired skills.

Important Notes:

  • Long hair must be secured neatly away from the face.
  • Please avoid wearing jewelry or watches you want to keep intact.
  • Cell phones should be left on silent and placed on the table during class.
  • An old towel for your lap is recommended to keep you comfortable while working at the wheel.

Join us for a fun, creative experience where you'll not only learn the basics of pottery, but also create lasting pieces to be proud of!
