Class Description:
In this TWO PART introductory class you will learn how to make a basic sock based on the wearer’s specific measurements. Topics covered include: knitting in the round, stretchy cast-ons, heel flap and turn techniques, gusset design/adjustments, toe options and finishing techniques.
Day 1: Gauge swatch analysis, sock design, cast-on, edge & leg knitting and heel flapOptional: Knitting socks 2 at a time
Day 2: Heel turn, gusset, foot and toe design and finishing touches
Materials needed (not provided):
Approx 430 yds fingering/sock yarn with at least 15% nylon recommended
Size 1 or 2 needles*; 40” circular or 4-5 double-point needles
Darning needle, Scissors, Measuring tape
